The Instrument of Your Doom

You see this shit?! This shit actually happened to me! This game gets my dick ROCK HARD. 

I really enjoyed Dark Souls and Demon's Souls before this, but this moment in Dark Souls 2 was one of the most beautiful moments I've ever experienced in a video game. I don't think I did this justice in this comic, but my little brother and I just... sat there, jaw on the floor as to how awesome this emergent kind of narrative arose. If you want to experience this assetry, this happened in the Undead Crypt.

In other news, this comic made me realize how little I know about anatomy. So many... misproportioned things. But hey. Some constructive criticism would be nice.

I heard about it a while ago but never got around to watching it, then watched about 7 episodes in a row a few days ago, instantly fell in love. That's when my friend decided to shit on me with his poppycock pessimism, even though it makes all the sense. The animation is gorgeous, and even though I only know about enough Japanese to talk to a 5 year old about the weather, the voice acting seems solid. Lots of yelling definitely helps. This anime is so, ugh, yes.

Midterms Are Like Finals' Nasty Babies

When I take my finals I'll be sure to have paramedics standing by.

This story is partly true, except for the part where, ya know, my dog talks, and I learn that he's great at ventriloquism. I was studying for a test when my dog walks up and gives me the most judgey stare he's ever thrown me, yawns, and walks away. He makes me very sad.

I'm so happy I got this last week over with because now I can enjoy the perks of Spring Break in New Jersey. Like wishing the snow was gone, wishing you weren't at work, wishing you could go to the park and enjoy whatever "nature" was, wishing the snow was gone.

Why I Hated The Witcher

I didn't exactly hate The Witcher. I think its a great game but... Jesus. Triss was the bane of my existence in that game. I couldn't even get to the Kayran because every fight she was involved in, resulted in her killing me. And those of you that have played The Witcher 2 know that this is towards the beginning of the game. No amount of mods could have saved me... I'd like to give it another go eventually.

Grindin' All Day, Grindin' All Night

My god this took so long =.=

So with this, I want to announce that I'll be posting new comics every Saturday (not including this one cuz dammit, you got your comic already). Video game related or otherwise.

So like I said in the last post, I really am enjoying Bravely Default. But one problem that I'm running into is how insanely easy it is to just grind your little heart away without even paying attention to the game. I had a similar problem with the new Exp. Share in Pokemon X/Y, but at least you had to input commands in order to progress. Preparing for bosses in this game once involved me handing the game to my younger brother and telling him, "just walk in a circle while I make a sandwich, I already set the battle commands". Regardless the game is still pretty awesome. I luv it 4evar.

Bravely Default

So I got Square Enix's Bravely Default the day it came out, with a friend of mine and well wasn't that the worst idea I ever had. I hadn't been able to put the game down until recently when I realized how much work I wasn't getting done. So to get it out my system while still feeling productive, I made my own lil avatar c:

The game is outstanding. The music is great, the combat is fun as shit and the environments like cities are hand illustrated so they look fucking gorgeous. It's hugely reminiscent of Final Fantasy 3 in the way it plays and progressess, but it has so much more substance than FF3 hoped to have. Hands down one of my favorite games on the 3DS right under Pokemon, and right above Link Between Worlds. Pick it up if you have the chance.

Animation(s?)! \'ani-MER-sherns\

So because I had nothing else to do this Winter break, I decided I'd start getting into animation! I had this really nice idea I was really into and I started working on it, up until I realized that I didn't know anything about animation. So, I thought I'd reel it back a bit and just do a quick animation of something. 

That "quick" animation turned into about 7 days of working for about and hour or two each day, and learning about animation for another hour every day, and has manifested itself into the second long pool of barf you see above :D 

This is the start of something beautiful. or at least, something slightly less atrocious than what's up there '___'

Things I learned
-this takes quite a while
like I said before, this takes forever, this was only 24 frames and I was animating on two's (if my phrasing is right)
-even though frames appear for a fraction of a second, details still matter
when I was doing certain things like the clumpy hair, I disregarded the necessity for consistency in abstract forms, but after watching it back during the later stages of production, I realized that structure in that kind of thing still matters. The hair is going ALL over the place :x
-there are a lot of "drawing the same thing slightly more to left" situations
especially when you want things to look like they're bouncing slightly from recoil or whatnot
