Hey there. It's been a little bit

So! It definitely has been a little bit. I moved out of my parents house last month, and I'm only now starting to get comfortable enough with the place and my routine, with my new commute to work and all. I think - I THINK - I've figured things out and can finally go back to drawing regularly again. YAAAAAY! Glad to know I haven't gotten any better while not drawing.

This was fun as hell. Being that text is from the opening of Tokyo Ghoul and therefore a full three minute song, I had to cut out certain parts of the song to make it fit.

This is something I’ve been working on for myself so that I can print it on canvas and put up in my room, but it’s also conveniently 1920x1080 for the wallpapering! Lemme know what you think. I’m calling this finished for now but it’s gonna take me a bit to get it printed so feedback is super appreciated :D

Sombre Sketches with Spiderman

Just got back from vacation and I really felt like I needed to get back to this. Don't know why Spiderman was the pose I wanted for this, but I wanted to try putting the body in perspective. I'm almost there, the torso's just a little on the stiff side still. With the short comic on top, I wanted to try something different thematically. I have a lot of fun making comics that try to make people laugh or smile, but there is of course that inherent narrative opportunity with comics to allow for the communication of all kinds of emotion, like loneliness. Also, I'd just like for there to be someone there when I turn around.

Classroom Superstar

So this took way longer than it should have for a 40 second animatic. My excuse: working in a restaurant full time is exhausting man. But anyways, this is something that I've wanted to do with Hack 'n' Sketch that I can hopefully do with more regularity in the future. I do have further animatics planned, and when I get more familiar with the software and stuff, I wanna crank them out with better quality and actual movement (imagine dat shit!)

Persona's Creed

This trailer is everything I hoped for and more. Uncontrollable sobbing incoming.

I've seen this trailer so many times at this point. Both to look at the costumes and just to be amazed. I was hoping they'd do something different with this game being that Persona 4 has been milked into oblivion, AND THEY DID. OH MAN. THEY DID. So much happiness. Everything about this trailer oozes style, funk, and grace. And red. Lots of red. Them Japanese know what they do.

Comic Delayed Today :c (Family Emergency)

Hey all. So something really shitty happened in my family this week where we lost my grandmother in a really terrible way. So I haven't had any time outside of work to finish this week's comic on time. I'm gonna try my best to get it out before this coming Saturday but since we're still dealing with the aftermath here, it's hard to say how I'm going to deal with everything at once. It's time that I return to pumping these comics out. Something about not doing them anymore felt really weird so here we are again. And this would probably be the best thing to write a return comic about, right? Butts.

Doing Things!

No comic this week woo! Instead we have other important things I've been working on. This is some concept art for the game I'm currently doing the art for. We don't wanna give away too many details before it's set in stone (please see: we're making it up as we go) but it's going to be a game in which a disease will infect the player with different types of mutations giving them increased strength or a ranged bile bomb type attack. Things like that. Also I've picked up Richard Williams' book The Animators Survival Kit, because I'm probably gonna need to learn how to do actual animations and fast. So far it's a crazy awesome, crazy heavy book with some really good character to it.

So all that's taken up a good bit of my week along with working my real job. I don't plan on making this kind of stuff main content for the week so this was just filler for this week. I have some comics I wanna do involving things like Hearthstone, Child of Light and eventually Transistor when that comes out.

Lastly, the Greninja V. Kirby comic was my best comic so far with the most popularity and best reception out of all of them. So thank you guys for sharing it with others and spreading the laughs. Kirby Becomes A Monster

Kirby now has the power to spit shurikens at his opponents.

I've been wanting to make this comic for far too long. Like many other people I was extremely hyped to see that Greninja was added to the new Super Smash's roster. I've always been a fan of the faster characters in the game and Greninja looks like he's gonna be just that. Also, doing this comic was one of the most therapeutic things I could have done all week. Have you ever just googled "Kirby" before? It's unholy how adorable it is.

Five Stages Of Grief As Told By Dota 2

Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. All these ingredients come together to create the maddest little boy!

Games like League of Legends and Dota are so bittersweet to me. On the one hand, it's a game that a lot of my friends can get behind and we can all play together. And they are genuinely fun and deep and get me super engaged with their mechanics. On the other hand, when you don't have a full party, you have to deal with the beast that is the anonymous internet. A terrible beast indeed. With zero consequences, people will say and do anything to anger those who anger them, unprovoked or otherwise. And that is why I have been fairly successful at quitting these games. There are just some days where my friends have this... itch. And when your friends have the itch, you need to help them scratch. Now I'm uninstalling Dota 2 for the umpteenth time. Yaaaay. I do love me some Phantom Lancer though.

The Evolution Of A Titanfall Player

But honestly this is how I am with every competitive game.

I was really skeptical about Titanfall for a long while. It was a combination of the online only functionality, the lack of a single player campaign, and the fact that I'm terrible at shooters. But I decided to sink the 60 bucks, and I wasn't disappointed (in the game at least, I was still terrible at shooters). It was really fun, the parkour worked really well, and it doesn't feel as gimmicky as I thought it would be. People get really creative with the wall jumping. And playing inside the titans is extremely empowering. You're just like "I WILL BREAK YOUR SOUL" and all "ANYTHING THAT CROSSES MY PATH MEETS DEATH". But then you panic when your robot friend tells you that someone is on top of your titan. There's also a neat power up system where you get one time use cards that give you advantages until you die in a match. So eets fun. Rull fun. But fuck losing.

Apologies for not being able to post a comic last week. Like I said on twitter, it's been a hectic week so I never got around to making the comic, but NO MORE! Every Saturday kids!

The Instrument of Your Doom

You see this shit?! This shit actually happened to me! This game gets my dick ROCK HARD. 

I really enjoyed Dark Souls and Demon's Souls before this, but this moment in Dark Souls 2 was one of the most beautiful moments I've ever experienced in a video game. I don't think I did this justice in this comic, but my little brother and I just... sat there, jaw on the floor as to how awesome this emergent kind of narrative arose. If you want to experience this assetry, this happened in the Undead Crypt.

In other news, this comic made me realize how little I know about anatomy. So many... misproportioned things. But hey. Some constructive criticism would be nice.

Sweet baby Jesus I love this anime. You may have to click on it to actually read it though :c if I make it any bigger it looks like poop

I heard about it a while ago but never got around to watching it, then watched about 7 episodes in a row a few days ago, instantly fell in love. That's when my friend decided to shit on me with his poppycock pessimism, even though it makes all the sense. The animation is gorgeous, and even though I only know about enough Japanese to talk to a 5 year old about the weather, the voice acting seems solid. Lots of yelling definitely helps. This anime is so, ugh, yes.
